In Situ, 2022

Two channel digital video, 21 minutes, 42 seconds; one channel digital video, 14 minutes 15 seconds; wood, hardware, drywall, digitally printed cotton, and paper, dimensions variable.

In Situ records the repeated action of throwing an Xacto knife at drawings I made collaboratively with an older, predatory male artist almost a decade ago. The meditative, destructive process took place over seven days, one day to destroy each drawing. Together the sculptural and video elements that compose this work were exhibited in Our Solitary Masses, a two-person show with Ann Lewis, curated by Elleree Erdos, in the Pfizer building in October 2022.
